Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park attracts more than four million visitors per year, because of its world-renowned natural beauty, its extensive outdoor recreation opportunities, its close proximity to the large population centres of central Scotland and its easy accessibility by road and rail. In line with its Mission Zero, the Park wanted to encourage visitors to make better use of active and sustainable transport to help reduce traffic emissions, congestion, and overcrowding of popular car parks.

The National Park Journey Planner Mobile Application includes functionality for finding and planning sustainable journeys to Points of Interest and scenic walking trails in the National Park. National Park Journey Planner users are shown a Carbon Calculation for each and every journey option presented to help them quantify their own contribution to the National Park's Mission Zero targets.

The National Park Journey Planner is part of the Integrated Mobility Partnership and so benefits from the technical integrations and system connections for travel by rail, bus, local Demand Responsive Transport (DRT), car club, driving, bike hire, taxi, cycling and walking routes.

A branded web widget is available which can be embedded into existing webpages. Have a look at the web widget in action on the National Park’s popular ‘getting to the park’ page.
